Greetings BOLD Community
My name is Tim Tydlacka, and I am in my 31st year in education. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as superintendent and to be a part of the BOLD community.
I grew up in Hutchinson, MN in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, when it was a relatively small town. However, I have spent most of my adult life moving around quite a bit, living in Mexico, Puerto Rico, St. Cloud, Duluth, and the Twin Cities.
Although I have spent the last 7 years in the administrative world, I have also served as a high school English teacher for the first 23 years of my career. If you ever want to talk about books, let me know. I can always find time for that.
My number one priority is student safety, and my number two priority is student learning. When students are learning in a safe and accepting environment, a foundation of security is formed upon which we can build, develop, achieve, and grow as a school culture and community.
It is no secret that we need to work on our financial situation, and so it is important to know that we plan to move forward with integrity to develop a united community of trust that will elevate BOLD and the surrounding community.
I take my job seriously as a public servant, so please reach out to me if there is anything you would like to discuss.
Please feel free to contact me at 320-523-1031.
Sincerely,
Tim Tydlacka

On Saturday, April 19th, the NHS completed their spring Adopt-A-Highway ditch cleaning along their section of Hwy 7 between Lake Lillian and Hwy 71. Another 14 bags of trash were collected. Fun was had and memories were made!

HUGE THANK YOU to all who donated blood this year for one or more of the four NHS sponsored blood drives. In total , from all four drives, 162 units were collected. Each unit has the potential to save up to 3 lives so the impact of donors could help around 486 people!

The Olivia Police Department has informed the District of an ongoing situation in the vicinity of the 600 block of East Maple in Olivia. An individual has barricaded themselves in a house and may be armed.
If you are within a four-block radius of the 600 block of East Maple, you are advised to shelter in place immediately. Please remain indoors until further notice.
There is currently no concern for the school campus. However, due to the situation, students who ride bus routes 5 and 6 and are dropped off in Olivia north of Highway 212 will be kept at school. Parents of these students should arrange for an alternate pickup at the school. Please do not attempt to pick them up at their regular bus stop. Please stay tuned to the Olivia Police Department Facebook page for further information.
This only impacts students who are on routes 5 and 6 AND are dropped off north of 212 in Olivia. The other students on those routes will ride as normal. Thank you for your cooperation.
Our second graders received bike helmets today from the Olivia Kiwanis! We are so thankful that year after year they supply our students with bike helmets to ensure that they are safe! Thanks again, Olivia Kiwanis!
