Dear BOLD Community,
I am sorry for waiting too long to release our students yesterday. I should have called it much earlier, so that we could have safely transported students to their homes by bus.
By not doing so, I subjected students, staff, and parents to a tremendous amount of stress and put many in the community in harm's way by creating a situation where people had to drive in the horrendous winds and whirling snow.
I understand if I have lost trust in the community, and I do not blame anyone at all for that except myself. I would have been enraged if I were trying to drive home in that with my kids.
Moving forward, I am committed to doing better. Although it may be understandably difficult to believe right now, I am fully committed to the safety of our students, staff, and families.
To my great relief and that of many others, everyone made it home or somewhere safe for the night.
Pain is our greatest teacher, and this was a very painful experience. I have learned that when the gales of December are slashing, err on the extreme side of caution.
I apologize for my part in the extremely distressful afternoon and evening yesterday. Please feel free to direct any and all questions and concerns directly to me.
I will have a facilities update to send out later today.
Take care everyone,
Tim

School will start two hours late tomorrow.
If you are coming to pick up your student, they can be picked up in the small gym.
School is closing, and the bus company does not think it is safe to pick students up on buses. Please make arrangements to come and pick up your student as soon as possible if you have not done so already.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but safety is our number one concern.
Thank you and drive safely.

Mrs. Christy's Career Education class had the opportunity to attend the Ignite Your Future event at Ridgewater College in Hutchinson to explore and try hands-on activities to learn more about different careers and occupations. The students connected with people who have worked in that job and to see if that path is right for them.

Mrs. Christy's Culinary/ProStart class had the opportunity to attend the Sysco Food Show. Students were able to sample new foods, work with Sysco chefs, and connect with industry professionals.

BOLD Schools Phones and Internet are back up. Thanks for your understanding.
Mrs. Christy's Culinary/ProStart class made a Thanksgiving dinner from scratch. They made turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, sausage dressing, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie.

K-6 Conferences are cancelled due to icy road conditions. Teachers will work with families to reschedule for a later date.
